Saying good-bye to poverty
I thought about this daily at least ten times, can we alleviate our misery, can we love our country little more and bring prosperity to the lives of its 150 million people. I think it is not that easy a job but it can be tried, the only thing we need is honesty, need every ones' hard work that starts from the top to the bottom. A good administrator is a must supported by good and honest advisers. There is nothing wrong with this country, it has got enough resources to feed these people. It is our duty how we can help and utilise those resources. When I was in a medical school we had nearly 10 Malaysian students who came to study in our medical school, look at them now, we go to them for medical tests and treatment. It is a pity for us. Malaysia is no more a poor state, it is a developed state. They do not need to get visa to many European countries. Their GDP is higher than Bangladesh. Look at India, a population of 1 billion, they are recognised as the economic giant of the world by the side of China. What is wrong with us. Some thing wrong definitely, probably we are not patriots. We do not have patriotic leaders who have vision. There education and level of understanding is limited and they can not rise above the average feeling to prove that they are better to take the leadership. One can be good in mob management on the street but he may not be a good administrator because his or her level of thinking still remains as petty. Some people take the leadership as the paternal property and administer the country as their kingdom. They are arrogant at the same time. Some leaders do not understand the democratic norms and groom up their children as the heir of the dynasty. There are many people who called themselves as the leaders and do not have the guts to talk about it or protest these autocracy in the name of democracy.
I think Allah has his own plan otherwise how can it be possible that the strongest gods of the Bangladesh politics are in jail for their corrupt role in running the country, irony is that people still support them, it is because you need someone who has to be immoral or corrupt so that you can do the corruption. I think it happended with this Titas gas, rampant looting took place during the last 20 years.
Democracy, democracy has given autocracy in our country. There is no democracy, there is no rule for the people. People has been deprived of their rights all these years. I have seen magistrates are selling the judgment, my father started a case to get our own land as we own one fourth of the land and needed the demarcation, over 23 years that case has not been solved as the judges are corrupt and my father now too old to run the case. This is a country with the judicial system where judgment is sold .
I hoped when this government came to the power as I believed it was a revolution against all those corruption and to take the country forward, to bring real democracy. They have successes, they should not leave the road so quickly as it needs more time to change the gene of corruption from the core of our life. I still hope people who want to make it a failed state will fail to do that.
Bangladesh can be a prosperous country and it should not be let down anymore because of the thugs.
