Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested four alleged drug-peddlers and seized a firearms, phensidyl and ganja from various places in three northern districts recently.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid at Terakhadia under Boalia Police Station in Rajshahi city and seized a shooter gun. However, none could be arrested in this connection.

In another sudden raid at Yousufpur under Puthiya Upazila of Rajshahi district, a RAB team seized a taxi-car and recovered 472 bottles of phensidyl after searching the vehicle and arrested two persons, including the driver of the car. They were identified as Jakir Hossain, 30, and Saidur Rahman, 24.

They arrested two other drug-peddlers identified as Abdul Matin, 42, and Jamal Uddin, 27, and seized 164 bottles of phensidyl and one kilogram of ganja during four separate drives at various places in Rajshahi, Rangpur and Joypurhat districts.

The arrested and the seized goods were handed over to the concerned police stations after recording separate cases.
