Putting things on right track The price hike of essentials is yet to come down. I must appreciate our beloved armed forces who are trying their level best to put things on the right track to succour the deprived millions. The members of the fallen political parties dreaming of their fabulous throne of power and exploitation in this grave crisis instead of doing something for the poor people whom they made poorer by exploiting their blood from the soul in the name of independence, liberation and many other phases. Their tears often came down like crocodiles for the poor and the downtrodden. They eat well nutritious food, they live well under the air-conditioned roof comfortably and sleep well. But their impostor thought of show-business for the people was exposed during the rule of this government under the state of emergency. The military soldiers, though it's not their business doing politics, yet they are doing everything possible to save the country and its people who appear to have been on the brink of famine. The day is dawning as the harvest of wheat with the bumper products seem to be ensuing. The farmers appear to be happy in some parts of our country that they have been supplied fertiliser in due time and, as such, they could do well at their farmland. If the poor people are fed well and happy with their scant demand, they can make the country prosper by their hard earned agricultural products. Those well-dressed people at the public offices do not do so much as these farmers do in their fields. It's an irony of their fate that they made these officials for serving them but those evils of corruption became lords over them. The priority of the peasants and workers in all official facilities are to be provided for as they are pouring taxes to the public exchequer to tend those officials to serve them. Thanks God, our armed forces understood the difficulty of the people at large, God will certainly save them. They could love their country and had been loved by the people though they have also been paid from the public exchequer. They are the honest public servants. Let us work to make our country for the people, of the people and by the people and that would be only a corruption-free state of the wealthiest people on earth. Mizanur Rahman Khilgaon, Dhaka
