Three children of a family reportedly drowned in a ditch at Panchrai village in Keshabpur upazila Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Ali Ahsan, 6, son of Belayet Sheikh, Halima Khatun, 7, daughter of Zohor Sheikh, and Rahatoon, 6, daughter of Aktar Hossain.

Family members said the children were seen playing near the ditch in the afternoon. As the children did not return house on the night, the family members went there and found the bodies in the ditch.

A pall of gloom descended in the locality following the deaths of the children. However, the family members of the victims were in doubt whether the children were killed or drowned.
