Call to reduce gap between police and common people Our Correspondent, Gaibandha Gaibandha sadar thana police organised on Open House Day on the premises of Sadar Thana of the town here on March 16. Sources said, the aim of the day was to hear the complaints regarding to police and adopt proper steps to solve these as early as possible to increase the confidence and faith of the police to the general people. Police Super Mollah Nazrul Islam addressed the function as chief guest and A.S.P. Abu Md. Maruf Hossain was present as special guest. Presided over by M. Afizul Islam, officer in-charge of Sadar Thana, it was also addressed among other by Poura chairman Anwarul Hasan Sabur, President of Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shahazada Anwarul Quadir, President of Bangladesh Fertiliser Association, District Unit Abdul Latif Hakkani, member secretary of district community policing committee Advocate Sekender Azam Anam, Poura Commissioner Sazeda Parvin Runu, Matiur Rahman Rana and Sakil Islam Papul. Police Super Molla Nazrul Islam in his speech said the existing gap between the police and general people most be reduce to the zero level by giving the quality police service for the people. All sorts of police services should be welfare and public oriented he also said. A large member of people of different professional groups coming from far-flung areas of the upazila attended the function and raised their problems. Police Super listened to them with patience and also gave instant decisions to some problems of the complainers. A large member of local elite including journalists were present on the occasion.
