Over-load caused Jamuna Bridge cracks
After a huge investment and long time planning Jamuna bridge was constructed. Hyundai was the construction firm, one of the best construction firms in the world. Initially the bridge seemed okay but unfortunately cracks are formed in one of the largest bridge of the world. Many comments are made about Hyundai and all tried to prove the firm guilty.
In the initial design, there was no consideration for rail line as per the requirement of us, then at the final stage we wanted rail line and then they suggested meter gauge with a limit of weight and weighs meter was installed. But by the suggestion of the consultancy firm broad gauge line was and it is found that the weighs meters are out of sorts. This is the only reason that means the over load is the main reason for cracks.
It is also heard that the cracks are formed due to heat and resulted expansion. But in constructing such big bridges normally as a rule during the design the allowances for expansion & compression are considered perfectly.
Now the decision makers should make the judgement.

Bid them a gentle good-bye
The results of New Zealand-Bangladesh away series and South Africa home series only tell that the Bangladesh Cricket Team, in both the version of cricket, has failed to perform.
The team under the present leadership has utterly failed to make any mark.
An impartial look will reveal :
a. Ashraful as a Captain is no good,
b. The selectors have no sense of the game and they are incapable of doing justice to their posts.
The best way to come out of the situation is that these people should go either voluntarily or the BCCB should say them a gentle good-bye. Delay in this regard would be very costly for the cricket in Bangladesh.
