Security guard of a garments factory was shot and wounded by unknown assailants at Pallobi in the city early yesterday.

Abu Taher (28), the victim, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with two bullet wounds.

Locals said 4 or 5 gunmen forcibly tried to enter the garments factory of Epinias Group at Sector No. 7 about 5am. As Taher resisted, the goons fired at him leaving him wounded in the chest and right hand.

He was lying in a critical condition, hospital sources said.
