On this succession the achievement of this GMP certificate from European Commission has created new possibilities. The respect and position of local pharmaceutical industry will enhance to a great extent internationally by this achievement and the scope of exporting will be higher than ever before. Entrepreneurs and top management of many pharma companies, renowned physicians, reputed pharmacists, representatives of foreign embassies, and civil society were also present in the evening.

To mention, by exporting in 19 countries, Incepta is not only bringing fame for the country, but also contributing remarkably in the development of national economy by earning foreign remittance. Chinese team praises BEPZA for investment environment

A 24-member delegation of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export Textile (CCCT) led by Cao Xin Yu visited Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) on Wednesday.

Executive Chairman of BEPZA Brig General Ashraf Abdullah Yussuf warmly welcomed the delegation at BEPZA. The BEPZA Chief briefed the delegation about entire gamut of BEPZA including package of incentives to the investors.

In his welcome speech, he sought more investment from China specially in textile sector.

In this connection, Cao Sin Ya expressed his interest in textile sector. They expressed satisfaction for the congenial investment climate prevailing in the EPZs and the working procedure of BEPZA.

The delegation leader said China is interested to invest more in the EPZs of Bangladesh.

Later the delegation went to Dhaka EPZ and visited the industrial units of South China and Shanta Industry. The delegation impressed to see the uninterrupted production oriented peaceful working procedure of the factory and expressed the hope that the facilities offered to the investors should be continued for further investment by the foreign companies in the zone.

7 more Berger Color Bank outlets in city

A total of seven Berger Color Bank outlets were inaugurated recently in the Dhaka city.

Managing Director of Berger Paints (BD) Ltd Rupali Chowdhury inaugurated M/s Sarmin Hardware at Jhikatola, M/s Laxmipur Hardware at Hatirpool and M/s Royal Hardware at Kochuketh in the city on Monday.

On Tuesday, the Managing Director inaugurated M/s M Noor Hardware at Fakirapool, M/s National Paint at Maghbazar, M/s Sonargaon at Gulshan-1 and M/s Mustafa Paint at Mohakhali, Dhaka.

Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, GM Sales & Marketing, Regional Sales Manager and Zonal Sales Manager of Dhaka Sales Office were also present at the inauguration ceremony among other high officials of Berger.

The new Color Bank outlets have been inaugurated keeping in mind the increasing demand of Color Bank shades from Berger. Prime Finance to manage IPO of Confidence Salt

StanChart signs deal with Pacific, Hyundai Motors

Standard Chartered Bank has signed an agreement with Pacific Motors Ltd. and Hyundai Motors Bangladesh Ltd recently in Dhaka. Under this agreement, Standard Chartered will offer special interest rates to customers purchasing Nissan vehicles from Pacific Motors Ltd and Hyundai vehicles from Hyundai Motors Bangladesh Ltd by availing Auto Loan facility from Standard Chartered Bank.

Tarek Reaz, Head of Mortgage and Auto of Standard Chartered Bank and A. J. Siddiqui, Executive Vice President of Pacific Motors Ltd and Managing Director of Hyundai Motors Bangladesh Ltd signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Advertising Club, Dhaka holds 'Sharpener' contest

The Advertising Club, Dhaka, with the support of Save the Children-USA, organised Sharpener 2008, a day-long contest among under-30 Bangladeshi creative professionals, on March 14 last at the club premises.

A total of twenty-eight contestants from agencies namely Adcomm, Cogito. Expressions, Bitopi, Unitrend, Headoffice, Green Planet, Canvas Media and A Positive, forming fourteen groups took part in the contest.

Rahul M Alindib and Hasib Hasan Chowdhury finally won the award.

The panel of judges consisted industry veterans namely Tariq Anam Khan, Muneer Ahmed Khan, Yusuf Hasan and Gausul Azam Shawon.

The closing session was attended by Sanaul Arefeen, Convenor, Ad Club, Wazir Sattar, Joint Convenor of the club and Ms Sarwat Ahmad, Joint Convenor of the club and the Coordinator of the contest.

Ramendu Majumdar, President, Advertising Agencies' Association of Bangladesh, distributed certificates among the participants.

It is worth mentioning that the winners will get the opportunity to participate in the Young Lotus contest of the 11th Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (AP AdFest) 2008 to be held on March 26-29 at Pattaya, Thailand. The winners of Sharpener 2007 also participated in the 10th AP AdFest in 2007.
