Digital signage service: Agora signs deal with US tech firm Casada

Agora, country's main and largest chain supermarkets run by Rahimafrooz, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Casada Technology Bangladesh Ltd, a USA and Taiwan-based technology company, for digital signage. Digital signage is an electronic display device, which is used to present full motion video, photo graphics and text.
Under the deal, Casada will set up display system at Agora to show product information as well as updated news and promotions on it. With the launch of the service, Agora customers as well as suppliers can have their necessary product and other information easily.
Niaz Rahim, Managing Director of Rahimafrooz Superstores Ltd, and Md Reza Arfin, Managing Director of Casada Technology Bangladesh Ltd, signed the deal at Rahimafrooz corporate office in the city recently.
Casada Technology Chairman Intezar Ahmed, Director Imtiaz Ahmed, Chief Technology Officer Nadimur Rahman and General Manager Khandaker Ahsan Mahmud, and Agora Marketing Manager GM Kamrul Hassan were present at the signing ceremony.
Casada Technology Bangladesh Ltd is the lone company in the country to import and offer digital signage services.
Agora has been the first user of the ultra-modern technology. The service will be launched first at Agora's Gulshan outlet very soon and then other outlets in phases.
The digital signage includes the rapid ability to update content, and the ability to deliver specific messages to specific audiences in specific locations.
Digital signage is helping to merge the industries of advertising network and point of purchase display merchandising.
Transcom inks deal with Paper Rhyme

Transcom Electronics Limited, one of the largest electrical and electronics companies in Bangladesh, has got into an agreement with Paper Rhyme, a growing creative communication company on March 11 last.
Under the agreement Paper Rhyme will be the exclusive communication partner of Transcom Electronics Limited. In the signing ceremony, documents of the agreement were exchanged between Arshad Huq, GM, Sales and Marketing and AZM Saif, CEO, Paper Rhyme.
On this occasion all the senior officials--Habibur Rahman Mollah- GM-Finance and Accounts, A Kader Khan-Head of Distribution, Jafrul Alam Khan-National Sales Manager-Retail, Abdur Raquib- Product Marketing Manager, Ms Indrilla Haque-Senior Marketing Officer, Ms Eihita Hassan Auhana-Brand Communication Officer were present.
On behalf of Paper Rhyme, Golam Faruque-Chief Creative Officer & Partner and Ms. Sabrina Nizam-Account Manager were present.
Hong Kong-Australia-Jointly will invest US$10m in Dhaka EPZ
Hong Kong-Australia a joint venture company in the name & style M/s. Intimate Suppliers limited is going to set up a Textile and Garments Accessories Manufacturing Industry in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone.
100% foreign owned company will invest US $10 million and will produce of Textile and Garments items. The company was create employment opportunity for 1050 Bangladeshi including 10 foreign nationals.
An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and the M/s. Intimate Suppliers limited in BEPZA Complex, Dhaka on Thursday. A.Z.M. Azizur Rahman, General Manager (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Chan King Fai, Director of M/s Intimate Suppliers limited have signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organisation.
Chemico Laboratories holds sales conference
The annual sales conference of Chemico Laboratories Ltd was held Wednesday at Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre in the city.
Abul Kalam, Chairman, Chemico Laboratories Ltd, presided over the conference. It was addressed by Nurul Akter Arora, Managing Director, Chemico Laboratories Ltd, MA Mansoor, Manager Marketing and MA Wahab, Manager Sales Development
Abul Kalam said the medicines manufactured by Chemico Laboratories Ltd have already made good name in the market because of their quality.
He said that company would maintain the same standard without compromising with quality.
The Chairman mentioned that the company had recently installed 'Inject able Plant' with its existing production system."
He said "company is enriching with varied medicine products, day by day.
He hoped that Sales and Marketing team would be able to maintain Chemico's edge with those new medicine products with possible shortest time.
Nurul Akter Arora, Managing Director, Chemico Laboratories Ltd, who is awarded with 'successful woman entrepreneur' recently, said, "We have to intact our company image by continuing the competitive attitude."
Other speakers highlighted the progress of the company, made in last year. They also described the future plan and goal. According to the officials of the company, as many as 1,100 guests were present and of which a total of 600 were company's sales staff came from all over Bangladesh.
Workshop on 'Investment Risk Management' held
Social Investment Bank Limited arranged a workshop on 'Investment Risk Management' at its Training Institute in Dhaka on March 12.
Abdul Awal Patwary, Chairman of the SIBL Board of Directors, was present as chief guest in the programme organised in this connection. Seminar on Business Policy and Strategy at NSU
The Stragos, in collaboration with Career and Professional Development Services (CPDS) of North South University (NSU) organised a seminar on "The Rising Importance of Business Policy and Strategy (BPS) as a Concentration to the Corporate World." was held on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at NSU campus. Housewife Roushan Ara donates Tk 10 lakh to AMCH
Roushan Ara Khan, a house-wife in the capital has donated Tk 10 lakh for the construction of Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital (AMCH) at Uttara in Dhaka.
Roushan Ara Khan handed over a cheque for Tk 10 lakh to Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) President Kazi Rafiqul Alam in a ceremony at Dhaka Ahsania Mission Bhaban, Dhanmondi last Monday. For this donation a two-bed cabin of the hospital will be inscribed as 'Abdul Jabbar Khan and Roushan Ara Khan' in the name of her late husband and herself.
Her son-in-law, former additional Secretary Saiyed Musharram Husain and DAM resource mobilization unit coordinator MA. Hye were present on the occasion.
Accepting the cheque DAM President Kazi Rafiqul Alam said that with the support of the government and generous people the construction of this humanitarian health project is going on. For timely completion a total amount of Taka 200 crore is needed. He appealed to all to come forward with generous support.
