Road blockade for fertiliser

Thousands of farmers staged demonstrations and put up road barricade for four hours on the Satkhira-Khulna Highway demanding fertiliser yesterday.

The protesters withdrew after receiving assurance from the upazila administration of getting fertiliser regularly.

Sources said local farmers did not get fertiliser for the last 10 days. As a result, they gathered in front of Zakir Traders, local fertiliser dealer at Madanpur market and protested yesterday.
