Nat'l ID cards distributed

Naogaon district army camp commander Lt. Col. Md. Shamim Ahsan Zaklul PSC handed over the corrected prepared two lakh fifty three thousand four hundred two national identity cards of Naogaon Sadar Upazila to Naogaon Deputy Commission Md. Shefaul Karim in a simple ceremony, held at local Hotel Jamuna Community Centre recently, presided over by the Deputy Commissioner.

District and Session Judge AKM Shamsul Islam, Superintendent of Police Sardar Nurul Ameen, district election officer Yunus Ali, Pourashava chairman Abdul Kassem Akhana and others spoke on the occasion.

Sanitary materials distributed

The sanitary health materials and tube-wells were distributed among Adivashi families, organised by ASOGARI Sonar Bangla NGO, at Patnitola Upazila parishad auditorium on February 14, attended by Patnitola Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Abdul Manan as chief guest, while Upazila Health Engineer Md. Yusuf Ali as special guest, financed by Dhaka NGO Foundation.

Executive Director of the said NGO Gaisul Azam presided over the function.

Later, the chief guest distributed 15 (fifteen) tube-wells and 45 (forty five) sanitary health materials sets among the local neglected Adivashi Families at free of cost.

Dacoity committed

A dacoity was committed at two picknic party team of two buses, carrying the students, teachers of Manda Upazila Shaheed Mamun High School and College at dead of night on February 10, while they were returing home from Rangpur on Naogaon- Badalgachi road in Naogaon district.

The dacoits looted forcibly twelve mobile phones, four writch watches, twelvevori ornaments, thirty thousand taka in cash and others reported.

OC Sadar, Ekramul Huq Sarker on a strong drive recovered Tk. 3,800 taka cash, 6 mobiles, sharp weapons and others.

The girls college students Beauty, Polly and Sima injured seriously by the dacoits reported.

Rat killing drive held

A rates killing campaign meeting was held on Naogaon Sadar upazila parishad auditorium recently, organised by district and upazilas agriculture extension departments, inaugurated by Naogaon Pourashava Chairman Abdul Kassem Akanda, prisided over by Bangladshi union parishad chiarman Md. Abdul Jabbar Shah in a simple ceremony recently. The district tree preserving especialist F.M. Rajib Uddin, Sadar upazila agriculture officer Md. Abbas Ali, PPI Dalilur Rahman and others spoke on the occasion.

Cultivators and others were then present.

Body recovered

Atrai thana police, on getting information, recovered one dead body lying on a road recently.

The dead body was identified as Kafil Uddin Mondal (65) of Baullaha Para village in Atrai Upazila in the district.

He was murdered suspected, as several injuries marks by a sharp weapons were seen on his dead body.

His wife Beeljan Bewa filed a case with the thana in this connection. It was reported that he could not return home after cultivating the land.
