Speakers at a book launching ceremony in the city said that none should forget the glorious history of 1971 as we had achieved our independence after sacrificing many lives.

The book titled 'Journey Through 1971: My Story' by Prof Farida Huq was launched at University of Liberal Arts (ULAB) auditorium yesterday. Academic Press and Publishers Library (APPL) published the book.

Prof Anisuzzaman was present as chief guest, while Dr Mizanur Rahman Shelley, Chairman of APPL, chaired the function.

Author of the book Prof Farida Huq addressed, while Shahidullah Khan Badal, Iqbal Bahar Choudhury, Chief of Bangla Service of VOA, Prof Dr Razia Khan Amin, Prof Rafiqul Islam and Shahina Rahman, Managing Director of APPL, spoke on the occasion.

Speakers said the book is based on the true story of the Liberation War where many untold heart touching events took place.
