The rescue and recovery operation of the ill-fated launch had been called off on Friday, following the retrieval of 39 bodies from the river.

The body recovered yesterday was identified as Habibur Rahman, 30, son of late Mohiuddin from Kandahar in Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga. His father-in-law, Joj Miah, identified and recovered the body from the river.

Joj Miah said, he used the grappling hook to search the riverbed for the body of his missing son-in-law after the rescue operation was called off on Friday.

The official rescue team declared there were no more bodies, but many relatives continued to scour the river for their loved ones.

Local people said yesterday that a schoolboy, Sajib, and nine others were still unaccounted for.

The launch bound for Munshiganj capsized on Thursday afternoon, with about 200 passengers on board as a sand-carrying vessel rammed into it from behind.
