A book by Syed Jamaluddin titled 'Trade and Development' was published early February this month.

Syed Jamaluddin is currently working as secretary general of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

Earlier he worked in the finance ministry of the government

and came across trade and development issues. He also worked in Geneva as economic minister of Bangladesh and was directly involved in the Uruguay Round negotiations.

In this capacity, he dealt with WTO, UNCTAD, UNIDO and WIPO.

He served as faculty member of South East University. He writes columns regularly on various economic and trade related issues.

The book 'Trade and Development' contains 68 articles specially on bilateral trade and investment, national budget, regional forum, status of LDCs, WTO issues, PRSP, post MFA challenges, industries, privatization, export, Indo-Bangla trade etc.
