The works of preparing voter lists and National Identity Cards has begun in Gafargaon Pourashava and 15th Unions of Gafargaon Upazila under Mymensingh district on Thursday.

In order to create mass awareness a grand rally organised by Upazila administration and led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahbub Hossain, Poura Chairman Munjur Mia, UP chairman Abdul Hamid Munsur paraded the main roads of the town.

The officials and employees of government and non-government organisations took part in it. Pourashava employees, members of the local socio-cultural bodies and school-going children and others attended the rally carrying banners and festoons. The rally drew attention of the public. Some 1143 data collection volunteers, 236 supervisors and 18 assistant registration officers were engaged to complete the task of voter listing.
