14 persons include 10 Lalmonirhat railway officials and rest 4 others local men were held red handed for lifting and smuggling diesel fuel from railway engine by the army led joint forces at Loco shade building in front Lalmonirhat railway station at dawn January 20. The joint forces also recovered over 500 liters of diesel that were lifted from the engine and some materials that are used for lifting and smuggling diesel.

The arrested persons are identified as railway officials Loco Shade in-charge Foremen Akram Hossain, fuel checker Shahidul Islam, assistant driver Emdadul Haque, fitter man Golzar Hossain, assistant fitter man Shahidul Haque, electrician Tozammel Hossain, assistant electrician Abdur Rahamn, engine fitter man Nobir Hossain, MLSS Nazrul Islam and Abdul Quader and rest four others local people are Fazar Ali, Rana Miah, Korban Ali and Azad Hossain. They are identified active members diesel fuel lifter and smuggler network in Lalmonirhat railway division.

The commanding officer CO of Lalmonirhat Army camp Major Kazi Manjur led the team of joint forces raided the Loco Shade building near Lalmonirhat railway station at dawn on Sunday and caught them red handed when they were lifting and smuggling diesel fuel from engines.

The arrested were sent in Lalmonirhat sadar thana and the police sent them to the court at morning yesterday Monday and the court sent them to the jail rejecting their bail petition yesterday.

The higher authority concerned in Lalmonirhat railway division suspended arrested ten railway officials from their job yesterday Monday following the matter.

The Lalmonirhat railway divisional manager DRM Kazi Rafiqul Alam told this correspondent that railway authority concerned taken decision and suspended 10 railway officials who are guilty and they would be sacked from the job if they receive punish from the court.
