Concerted efforts must to make Boro farming programme a success BSS, Rangpur A meeting of the joint forces with officials and employees of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) here recently stressed the need for concerted efforts of all to make the ongoing Boro farming programme a success. Presided over by Deputy Director of Rangpur DAE Kamal Shariful Alam at the conference hall of Rangpur Carmichael University College, the meeting was attended by Commanding Officer of Rangpur Army camp Lt Col Kazi Mohammad Kaiser Hossain as the chief guest. Project Director of DAE from Khamarbari in Dhaka Abdur Rahim and Lieutenant Samimur Zaman attended the meeting as the special guests and a total of 300 officials and field level employees of DAE including all eight Upazila Agriculture Officers of the district took part in the meeting. The meeting discussed various issues including supply of fertiliser, pesticides and other agri-inputs to the farmers, power situation and other matters and took some important decisions for achieving success in Boro farming during the current season. To recoup the losses caused by floods in agriculture sector and to meet growing food demand, Lt Col Kaiser asked the officials and employees of the DAE to work for an all-time record bumper production of Boro paddy this year.
