Decentralisation makes obtaining passports easier BSS, Dhaka The obtaining of passports has now become easier and less cumbersome than before as the present government has simplified the procedure and decentralised the service last year. As part of its steps to ease the availability of passports, the government in November last year gave Trust Bank, a private bank, the responsibility to process passport applications. Besides, a one-stop service centre has been opened at the Agargaon Passport office in the city and the people can also summit applications for passports to seven post offices in the capital. In a major move for decentralisation, the government has authorised the offices of Deputy Commissioners at 17 districts along with 15 regional passport offices to process applications for passports.
