Avoid passing causal comment

The concept of the modern state is welfare state beginning from the early seventh century. It is not police state. But it needs police to maintain internal law and order. It needs Armed Forces to defend the territory against foreign aggression.

Giddings said, "The purpose of the state is to create such an atmosphere in which all the people should be able to lead a supreme and self-sufficient life."

Professor Garner said, "The purpose of the state is to look after the interest of the people, nation's interest and to develop human civilisation." According to Adam Smith, there are three purposes of the state. First, protection from external aggression and maintenance of the internal peace and security; secondly, protection of the individual against injustice and atrocities of the other members of society; and thirdly, to establish different job and public institutions and to maintain them, which cannot be established by any individual or group of individual.

State being an abstract thing, it implies upon the government, its legal agent, to execute and implement the purposes thereof. Professor Garner said, " Government is the agency or machinery through which the collective will of the people or state may be formulated, expressed and executed." Imam Malek said, "The state has legal authority to take any action in the greater interest of the people." Casual

From the above definitions, thus, it reveals that it is unjust and wrong to say that the government has nothing to do with the price hike.

It cannot shut its eyes to the plight of the people. If the government keeps its eyes shut, the state of nature is bound to return. Persons sitting in the key positions of the government should not pass such remark that creates confusions in the society and aggravates a problem further. They need to be careful while speaking on any matter. The nation expects prudent comment from them that is helpful to ensure peace and security
