Victory Day Hockey: Sonali Bank crush Barnak Samaj

Sonali Bank SRC crushed Barnak Samaj in the Dhaka Bank Victory Day Hockey Competition at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Friday.
The bankers led the first half 5-0.
Chayan of Sonali Bank top-scored with four goals, Rajon netted three, Jimi scored two goals and Musa, Remon, Rony, Shuvo struck one time each on the board.
Today BKSP will take on Bangladesh Navy at 3.00 PM at the same venue.
Senior Div Football League: Youngmens draw with Agrani Bank

Youngmens Club of Fakirapool made a 1-1 draw with Agrani Bank SC in the Senior Division Football League at the Kamlapur Bir Sreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Stadium on Friday.
Agrani Bank had a 1-0 goals lead in the first half.
Tutul of Agrani Bank put his team ahead in the 27th minute of the first half.
After the breather Sabuj of Fakirapool levelled the margin in the 51st minute of the play.
Volleyball training at Rangamati ends

The three-week volleyball training programme organized by Rangamati District Sport Office concluded at Barkal High School ground on Thursday.
The training was organized aiming at making the school students skill in volleyball playing.
A total of 40 students from Barkal High School and Barunachhari High School took part in the training, said a press release.
The concluding function of the training programme was chaired by district sports officer AFM Sahab Uddin while headmaster of Barkal High School Pravat Bindu Chakma was present as the chief guest.
Amal Roy clinch double crown, Ayami of BKSP women's singles champ

Amal Roy of Engineers Club clinched double crown -- men's singles and doubles -- in the Prestige Bengal Victory Day Tennis Competition at the Ramna National Tennis Complex on Friday.
In the men's singles final, Amal beat Dipu Lal 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Then he paired with Ranjan Ram to clinch the men's doubles title defeating Niranjan Ram and Dipu Lal pair 6-2, 6-2.
In the women's singles, Ayami of BKSP emerged champion beating Sathi Sarker of NTC 6-3, 6-1 in the final on Friday.
In the boys' singles (Under-16), Mofazzel Hossain of NTC won the title beating Omar Faruque Sunny of BKSP 6-4, 6-2.
Earlier, Sheikh Hasibur Haq emerged champion in the boys' singles (Under-13) while Customs Club won the team title in the event.
After the concluding day's events, a total of Tk 105,000 were distributed in prize money in the men's singles, women's singles and men's doubles events while the men's singles champion received Tk 20,000.
Later, in the afternoon, Bangladesh Tennis Federation president AMM Nasir Uddin distributed prizes among the winners as chief guest. Federation general secretary Sanaul Haque and other officials were present.
National Karate competition begins Jan 18
UNB, Dhaka
The two-day 21st National Karate Competition, organised by Bangladesh Karate Federation and sponsored by Bank Asia, has been deferred by a eight days to begin on January 18 at the Mirpur Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium.
The competition was earlier scheduled to begin on Jan 10.
The last date of sending team entries is January 10 by 6:00 pm while the competitors will have to weigh-in at the competition venue on January 17 between 4:00-9:00 pm.

New Zealand were 156 for four in reply to Bangladesh's first innings 137 at stumps on the first day of the first Test at University Oval here Friday.
Mathew Bell was not out 74.
Tamim Iqbal top scored with 53 for Bangladesh while Chris Martin took four for 64 and Jacob Oram took three for 23.
