RAJSHAHI, Jan 1: Body of Shahida Sultana Lovely, who was allegedly slaughtered by her husband in America on December 20, was buried at her village home at Gosaildas in Godagari Upazila Saturday night. Earlier, body of Lovely, 33, reached Zia International Airport at about 1:30 PM by a flight of American Airlines and later her body was brought to her village home. Thousands of people took part in her Namaje Janaza. Later, she was buried at Daingpara Mosque graveyard. Family sources said Lovely went to America on May 26, 2001. There she married Bangladeshi expatriate now American citizen Solaiman in 2002. He hailed from Anowara Upazila of Chittagong. Solaiman had been working in a hotel in New York. On December 20, Solaiman following a quarrel tortured and slaughtered Lovely, mother of a child. US police later arrested him, reports UNB.
