Police arrested a total of 38 persons including notorious criminals on different charges from various places of the district on Friday morning

The arrested persons included listed terrorists, dacoits, drug smugglers, addicts, gamblers, absconding convicts, rapists, drug- peddlers, muggers, thieves, extortionists and other anti- social elements. Police also recovered huge quantities of narcotics including ganja, mini ganja packs, phensidyl, locally produced wine, smuggled cumin, stolen goods and other illegal things during the drives.

Drug traffickers Nasrin Begum, 30 with 1.5 kg ganja and Taka 1,990, Ranga Mia, 35, with 100 grams of ganja and Anwar Hossain, 32, with two bottles of phensidyl were arrested by police. They also recovered a stolen motorcycle.

The arrested persons were sent to jail hajat, police said.
