The government has sanctioned 3,205 metric tons of wheat for repair and development works under food- for-work programme in ten upazilas of this district during this dry season.

According to district relief and rehabilitation office, the sanctioned wheat will be used for the implementation of several development schemes in the upazilas of the district.

Of the total, 1,397 metric tons of wheat has been sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Maintenance (Test-Relief) programme while the rest of wheat under Rural Infrastructure Repair (Food- for-Work) programme.

A total of 130 metric tons of wheat will be spent for the development of five paurasabhas in the district, the source said.

Chairmen of the paurasabhas and union parishads have been preparing the schemes to be implemented in their respective areas.
