The caretaker government extended up to February 28 the time for all public servants to submit their wealth statement.

An official announcement Sunday said, "This time limit would be applicable for this year only."

The government decided to extend the time following appeal from employees at field level to different levels, engagement of government officials in SIDR-affected areas, vacations for holy Eid-Ul-Azha and Christmas, and for the fact that many officials are now abroad performing Hajj.

Provision for wealth statement by all concerned has been toughened as a countrywide purge against corruption is now underway.
