Acting Awami League president Zillur Rahman Thursday strongly protested and condemned the killing of former Pakistan Prime Minister and opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.

In a statement he urged all progressive and peace-loving forces to be united against this kind of attacks on democratic non-communal political leaders.

He demanded the exemplary punishment to the criminals who were linked with such kind of massacre.

Pakistan Peoples Party leader Benazir Bhutto was killed in a suicide attack as she was coming out of election meeting in Rawalpindi this evening.

Zillur prayed for peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
