Poet Mahbubul Alam laid to rest at Banani graveyard

UNB, Dhaka

Language veteran and poet Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury was laid to rest at the city's Banani Graveyard on Monday.

His 2nd namaj-e-janaza was held on the premises of Dhaka University Mosque after Zohr prayers on Monday while the 1st at Uttara-3 Jame Mosque on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, his body was taken to Central Shaheed Minar from BIRDEM mortuary. People from all walks of life showed their last respect to the late poet from 11 am to 12:30pm.

His qulkhwani will be held at his residence in sector No. 3, Road No. 20, House No 48 and Uttara-3 Jame Mosque after Asr prayers on Friday (December 28).

Poet Mahbubul Alam died of cardiac arrest on Sunday at the city's United Hospitals at the age of 80.
