Staff Reporter

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and parivate TV channel ETV yesterday have signed an agreement, allowing live share market report broadcast everyday.

Chairman ETV Abdus Salam and President DSE Muhammad Abdullah Bokhari signed the agreement in a signing ceremony at the DSE Bhaban. Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Faruq Ahmed Siddiqui was present on the occasion.

This signed agreement will allow ETV, for the first time in Bangladesh, to broadcast DSE market trade every day.

"It's a revolution for free capital market movement," said the SEC Chairman.

Congratulating both the DSE and SEC for their successful agreement, he expected this change will make the capital business more transparent to common people, which will attract them towards investment.

"Our capital market runs on rumors, which is very risky for investors. Earlier, current market information was only available in Internet and the DSE board. Now as they will be broadcast live on TV, they will be more easily accessible," he added.

Now investors would make any move with better understandings then ever," he expected.

Ekushe Business, the name of coming share market base TV program, will be broadcast for 4 hours everyday, said the ETV Chairman.

"We are expecting to start the program from January 1st, 2008. This will also contain on-spot analysis, international market comparison and trade movement for all other commodities," he added.

At the signing ceremony, member of SEC Muhmmad Ali, Senior Vice President of DSE Ahmed Rasid Lali, Head of ETV News Shah Alamgir and other senior members from both the party were present.
