Bangladesh Army made an auspicious start in the Victory Day Kabaddi Competition when they defeated Bangladesh Police by 43-14 points amid three lonas in the opening match at the Kabaddi Stadium on Wednesday.

Earlier, former star footballer and Deputy Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Chunnu formally opened the kabaddi meet.

In the day's second match, Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) outplayed Bangladesh Jail team by 60-15 points including four lonas at the same venue.
