Mohammedan SC clinched the "best-of-three football" title beating arch rivals Abahani Limited by 4-2 goals in tiebreaker in the third match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.

The match rolled into tiebreaker after the stipulated time ended goal less.

The entire gate receipts from the three matches will be donated to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund for the cyclone-affected people.

Earlier, on Monday, Mohammedan took a 1-0 lead beating Abahani by 5-4 goals in tiebreaker in the first match, but Abahani leveled the three-match series 1-1 beating Mohammedan SC 2-1 in the 2nd match on Wednesday.

In the day's match, Ariful, Mamun, Farhad and Ripon converted the spot kicks for Mohammedan SC while Emily and Mintu found the target for Abahani Limited.

During the stipulated time, Mohammedan SC launched several attacks, but failed to convert any of those into goal.

Mohammedan SC came close to score in the 27th minute, but Farhad's powerful shot from top of the D box went over the bar.

Liton must consider himself unlucky as his close range header off Farhad free kick narrowly went out beside the goal post.

Mohammedan got another chance in the 77th minute when a Ripon back volley from vantage position, off Farhad right side cross, sailed harmlessly over the crossbar.

Cameroon recruit Figo missed another chance in the 80th minute as his header from inside the danger zone, off a Farhad left wing cross, narrowly missed the target.

Abahani Limited, who failed to produce any real attack in the first half, came close to score in the 83rd minute but a Prantosh close range header, off Abul long pass, went over the crossbar.
