A community development camp (COMDECA), marking the centenary celebrations of scouting, began at Cox's Bazar sea beach Friday.

President Dr Iajuddin Ahmed will formally inaugurate the COMDECA, organised by Bangladesh Scouts, from Bangabhaban through radio and television at 12:30pm Sunday.

Scouts, rovers, leaders and officials from home and abroad will take part in the 8-day COMDECA to have practical experience about community development.

The scout members will also be engaged in relief distribution and rehabilitation works in five cyclone-hit districts.
