Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) Professor Mohammad Abdur Rob on Friday inaugurated a training course with a call to intensify humanitarian activities during the disaster by exchanging experiences with the societies of other regional counties.

"BDRCS has achieved practical knowledge through its various programmes to face the disaster though Bangladesh is a disaster prone country," he told the participants.

A total of 22 participants, including host Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Inida, Pakistan, Srilanka, Maldavis,Nepal of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies are participating in the six-day training course, a press release said here.

The training course on "Regional Disaster Response Team (RDRT) Training in Relief and Shelter" was jointly organized by BDRCS and International Federation.

Chief of International Federation Selvaratnam Sinnadurai, regional cooperation delegate Thomas Russel, other delegates and vice-chairman, treasurers, secretary general and members of board of directors of the BDRCS were present on the occasion.
