HP expands business notebook PC portfolio to deliver greater choice and connectivity
HP today strengthened its business notebook portfolio with the introduction of seven new notebook series to deliver greater technology choice and connectivity to business users.
Featuring a sleek new look and the latest technologies, such as an Illumi-Lite display for weight and power consumption savings, the HP Compaq 2710p Notebook PC is an ultra-thin convertible notebook that combines conventional notebook productivity with tablet PC flexibility. It joins the HP Compaq 2510p, HP Compaq 6710b, HP Compaq 6720s series, HP Compaq 6910p, HP Compaq 8510 series and HP Compaq 8710 series to round out the company's comprehensive portfolio of mobile offerings.
Ultra-Light business notebooks
HP Compaq 2710p Notebook PC - Starting at only 1.65 kg ,(9) this sleek, ultra-thin convertible tablet sports an innovative design. With a twist of the screen, it transforms from an ultra-light notebook PC into pen-based tablet. An optional ultra-slim battery accessory allows users to enjoy up to 10 combined hours battery life,(10,11) and a convenient ultra-slim docking solution features an integrated DVD+/-RW drive. (12,13) In addition, it offers an optional(12) integrated camera for convenient video conferencing and image capture, HP NightLight on the keyboard to improve visibility in low light and integrated business card reader software.
HP Compaq 2510p Notebook PC - HP's smallest and lightest business notebook starts at only 1.3 kg(9) with an integrated optical drive. Dual-pointing devices, both a touchpad with scroll zone and pointstick, offer users greater flexibility. As with the tablet, the Illumi-Lite display improves battery life by up to 90 minutes(14) over a notebook with traditional backlighting, and users have a choice of Intel CoreŽ 2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage processors(15) to further optimize power consumption.
Balanced Mobility business notebooks
HP Compaq 6910p Notebook PC - With industry-leading battery life of up to five hours and 45 minutes(11) and a starting weight of only 2.0 kg,(9) this notebook is designed for on-the-move productivity. The Ultra-slim MultiBay II drive bay(12) allows users to swap optical drives for increased storage or optimal travel weight.
HP Compaq 6710 series - These notebooks offer large displays, value and extensive connectivity. They feature a widescreen 15.4 inch diagonal widescreen display with a choice of anti-glare or HP BrightView display options.
High-performance business notebooks
HP Compaq 8710 series - HP's most powerful business notebook PC and mobile workstation offer the highest-end, independent software vendor-certified NVIDIA 3D graphics, a high-resolution 17-inch diagonal widescreen display and a full-size keyboard with numeric pad. Power users can work in a true 64-bit computing environment with support for up to 4 gigabytes (GB)(16) of memory to run the most demanding applications. The mobile workstation offers HP Performance Tuning Framework, a free, easy-to-use tool that guides workstation setup and custom configures workstations to better match users' requirements.
HP Compaq 8510 series - This notebook PC and mobile workstation offer a choice of intense graphics from ATI and NVIDIA in a 2.77 kg(9) highly mobile design. Users can also develop, record, re-write and playback high-definition video, as well as store up to 50 GB of data, with optional Blu-ray DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL Drive (12,13, 17) with any of the new high-performance notebook PCs and mobile workstations.

Prevent Cyber crimes

Don't be bullied into fights.
People tend to say things online that they would never say in person. Some people even say rude and malicious things, sometimes just to see if you will respond. Don't respond to these people. Instead, talk to your parents about how to block them from communicating with you and report them to the right place.
Don't use adult sites.
There are some websites that kids just should not use. Don't use websites that contain adult content or that facilitate communication with older adults? No matter how much you think you know about the Internet, there are some people and places you just aren't ready to deal with. Enjoy websites that are designed for people your own age.
Understand what you put online will be there forever.
Assume that everything you put online-- every email you write, every picture you post, and every blog or journal entry you post-- will be accessible on the Internet forever. Many search engines copy Internet pages and save them for viewing even after the pages are no longer online. Think about that before you post anything online. Do you really want pictures or blog entries to be seen 10 years from now?
Are You A Safe Cyber Surfer?
Fortunately, there are steps you can take to protect your computer, your information and your peace of mind from computer creeps who try to slow down a network operation, or worse yet, steal personal information to commit a crime. Here are some tips to help you, from the Mumbai Police
Make sure your passwords have both letters and numbers, and are at least eight characters long. Avoid common words: some hackers use programs that can try every word in the dictionary. Don't use your personal information, your login name or adjacent keys on the keyboard as passwords-and don't share your passwords online or over the phone.
Protect yourself from viruses by installing anti-virus software and updating it regularly. You can download anti-virus software from the Web sites of software companies, or buy it in retail stores; the best recognize old and new viruses and update automatically.
Prevent unauthorized access to your computer through firewall software or hardware, especially if you are a high-speed user. A properly configured firewall makes it tougher for hackers to locate your computer. Firewalls are also designed to prevent hackers from getting into your programs and files. Some recently released operating system software and some hardware devices come with a built-in firewall. Some firewalls block outgoing information as well as incoming files.
That stops hackers from planting programs called spyware-that cause your computer to send out your personal information without your approval.
Don't open a file attached to an e-mail unless you are expecting it or know what it contains. If you send an attachment, type a message explaining what it is. Never forward any e-mail warning about a new virus. It may be a hoax and could be used to spread a virus.
When something bad happens-you think you've been hacked or infected by a virus- e-mail a report of the incident to your Internet provider and the hacker's Internet provider, if you can tell what it is, as well as your software vendor.
