Team South took an overall 81-run lead with six wickets in hand against Team East on the 2nd day of the 2nd round four-day match of the Challengers Cup at the BKSP in Savar on Monday.

After having a nine-run first innings lead, Team South started their 2nd innings today to score 72 for 4 in 35 overs when the bails were drawn for the second day.

Ashiqur Rahman and Sumon Saha were batting on 11 and 6 runs respectively. Number three Wasiur Rahman returned to the pavilion scoring 29 runs.

Kazi Shamim and Mahibullah Sajal took one wicket each.

Earlier, in the morning, Team East resumed their 1st innings with overnight 20 for 0 to be all out for 151 in 59.3 overs after dismissing Team South Team for 160.

Opener Shakil Haider contributed innings highest 52 runs off 97 balls with four boundaries.

Shukran claimed three wickets for 31 runs in 9 overs while Rubaiyat Huq and Ahsanullah Hasan took two wickets each.

In the day's another match at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium (DCS), Team North made 269 for all in 101.4 overs in the 1st innings after dismissing Team West for 203 in 81.2 overs.

Resuming the day with overnight 22 for 1 in 11 overs, Team North crossed the 250-mark with two big fifties from opener Ashraful Hossain and Mehrab Hossain Jr.

Mehrab scored 81 runs off 136 balls with 12 fours while Ashraful Hossain made 73 off 191 balls with eight fours.

Mohammad Akash claimed four wickets for 38 runs while Ariful Islam and Muktar Ali took two wickets each.
