By hadith we mean all that the Prophet did, advised others to do and raised no objection to the practices of his close companions. He said, 'nothing should be accepted, even if said with reference to him, if that counters the verse of the Quran.' But after his death, thousands of fake hadith were manufactured in the factories of the hypocrites in order to damage the eternal appeal of Islam. This is the reason that Imam Bukhari recognised 7397 only, without repetition 2460, hadith as authenticate ones and incorporated in his book of hadith 'Bukhari Sharif.'

But we face fake hadith in our daily life. On one Thursday morning on a private television channel, one learned (?) in Islam was saying that Allah first enjoined 50 times prayer a day when the Prophet traveled in the heaven during his early prophethood. But a prophet of the yore intercepted him while he was returning to earth and said, your disciples are physically too weak to bear the burden of 50 times prayer a day. So, pray to Allah to reduce the times to such extent that your people could bear. The Prophet Muhammad (SM) followed his advice. Our findings is that the manufacturer of this hadith has damaged the image, intellect and far-sightedness of the Prophet and placed a prophet of the yore above him.

So, we suggest that none should narrate such story, which the Prophet never did. Care must be taken to avert controversy.
