The 18th death anniversary of Major M A Jalil will be observed today. On the occasion Major Jalil Parishad will organise milad mahfil at the Mirpur martyred intellectuals graveyard at 9.00 am in the morning.

Besides, Major Jalil Parishad and the local freedom fighters will also organise milad mahfil and discussion meeting at Jalil's village at Ujirpur under Barisal district.

At the milad mahfil munajat will be offered for the people who lost their lives in the cyclone SIDR, informed Saima Jalil, chairperson of Major Jalil Parishad.

Major Jalil was commander of the sector number 9 during the liberation war in 1971.
