ACC officials asked to make corruption-free atmosphere

Anti-Corruption Comm-ission (ACC) chairman Lt. Gen. (retd) Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury on Sunday urged the officials of the commission to make their sincere efforts to create a corruption free atmosphere to the nation within the next five years.

He was addressing the certificate giving ceremony of a fortnight long training course arranged for field level officials of ACC at the conference room of the commission here.

A total of 23 directors, deputy directors and assistant directors level officials took part in the training organized for the first time as part of up capacity building programme of the ACC with the financial support of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).

Executive Director of TIB Dr Iftekheruzzaman and Director General (training) of the ACC Abu Taleb addressed, among others, on the occasion.

Highlighting the goals of the ACC and aspiration of common people on the commission, Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury said the commission has to stand on its own foot to make the people's dream true.

"In view of this the commission has been making its strives to bring the corrupts under prosecution, create social awareness among people against corruption and build up the capacity so that it can function independently in future," the ACC chairman said.

Urging the officials to send the message to people on the three above goals of the commission, he said adding the nation will certainly get a corruption free atmosphere when the goals will be achieved.

The ACC chairman said brilliant officials of the ACC would be sent abroad to enhance their performance and further improve their capacity to fight corruption.

Dr Iftekharuzzaman expre-ssed his satisfaction to be associated with the ACC to and assured of providing all financial and administrative support to the commission.
