Need for good coop between police and common people stressed

Md Asaduzzaman Mia, DIG Khulna Range said that there was a big gap between people's expectation from police and service rendered by them. Though we said police are friends to the people, still police cannot be the real friends to people. People also fear to go to thanas, DIG added.

He stressed to build up good cooperation between police and the common people for development of the nation.

DIG Asaduzzaman Mia, inaugurated Jhenidah district committee of community policing at local police line on Wednesday (14 November). He introduced the members of Community Policing Jhenidah unit in a befitting manner. A large number of community policing members attended the inaugural ceremony.

Addressing as chief guest DIG also said British imperials built up police force in 1861 to rule this country. The colonial ruler used police to oppress the people. After 36 years of Independence the parties in power used police to oppress opposition parties and safeguard the corruption of the ruling party members.

After one-eleven the total scenario has been changed. Police are discharging their duties without political interference. He said 63 thanas of Khulna Range is now free from brokers.

Presided over by Jhenidah Police Super Abul Khayer the inaugural ceremony was addressed among others by Major Kabir, Mejbahul Islam, ADM, Abdul Malek, Jhenidah Poura chairman, Advocate Amir Hossain Malita, Press Club President MA Ansari, Harunar Rashid, UP chairman Ohidur Rahman and Hosne Ara Khondakar.
