On 13 November 2007, at Rabindra Sharobar, Dhanmondi (8/A), a part of our heritage 'Pithha Utsab' was un-officially inaugurated by a quality name of such delicacies 'Pithha' located there, welcoming the approaching winter season. In our culture it is a tradition to celebrate and welcome the winter harvest by preparing Pithhas or home made cakes of various types, and to treat neighbors, each year around this time of the year. In commemorating this occasion, popular TV personality Sharmin Lucky and Vocal Artist Shahed were seen in the Pithha Utshob arranged by Pithha. They were accompanied by high officials of the house of delicacy, along with scores of people who gathered to have a bit on their favorite pithhas. One of then remarked, ''I am very happy to attend the inaugural ceremony, Pithha no doubt is an indispensable part of our culture and I wish all the success'. This festival will continue throughout the whole winter season, creating an opportunity for those who are fond of these kinds of delicacies. And an official also informed that though the festival will be over when the winter season ends, but Pithha will prepare all these traditional hand made cakes throughout the year to satisfy its customers. Among the most favorite items that are available here are, Patisapta, Maalpowa, Chandrapuly, Morog-Shangsar, Jhalpuly, Bhapapuly, Suryamukhi, Foolpakonpuly, Chingripuly, khirpuly, Chitoi, Dudh-chitoi, Naksha, Mupsalla, Khanthalpata, Fooljhuri, etcetra along with many more mouth watering items.
