Two persons were killed and three others injured seriously in a road accident on the Dhaka- Mymensingh Highway in Trisal on Thursday.

The dead were identified as Abu Bakar Siddique, 45, son of Mohammad Manik of Keoba Pashimkhanda under Sripur upazila and Belal, 40, son of Ali Ahmed of Solaghar village under Muladi upazila of Barisal district. Police and eyewitnesses said the accident took place when a Dhaka- bound speedy truck ran over them while they were walking along the highway.
