The members of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) arrested a hundi trader from Sharsha upzila of the district and recovered Taka 14 lakh from his possession on Wednesday.

The arrested was identified as Asad, 35, hailed from Raozan upazila of Chittagong district.

BDR and Police sources said Asad was arrested from Amrakhola village during a raid conducted on the basis of secret information.

Police said the arrested is a member of an international hundi trading cartel. He was handed over to the Sharsha thana with the money.
