The district administration has distributed Taka 6.5 lakh among 130 flood-hit families of three Unions under Gangachara Upazila in the district on Sunday.

A function was organised on the occasion chaired by Gangachara UNO Mukesh Chandra Biswas. Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Khondker Atiar Rahman distributed the relief money as the chief guest from the Chief Adviser's relief fund at Gangachara Upazila Parishad auditorium.

Each of the affected families was given a cheque for Taka 5,000 with a view to assist them covering losses caused by floods in the upazila.

Upazila Project Implementation Officer Moshiur Rahman, Gangachara UP chairman Anwarul Islam, Laksmitari UP chairman Mostafa Kamal, Kolkond UP chairman Waheduzzaman Mabu and local elite were present.
