35 lakh hectares of land will be brought under Boro and other winter crops cultivation through out the country during this season (2007-2008).

According to a source of Agriculture Extension Directorate Khamerbari, Dhaka, Boro cultivation target has been fixed at 43 lakh 75 thousand hectors. This season high bried Boro will be cultivated on one lakh hectors.

Boro production target has been fixed at one crore 69 lakh 45 thousand tons. Maize cultivation target has been fixed at 4 lakh hector with a production target 11 lakh 63 thousand 418 tons. Wheat will be cultivated on 4 lakh hectors and production target has been fixed at 8 lakh 50 thousand tons. Potato cultivation target has been fixed at 4 lakh hectors with a production target of 73 lakh 64 thousand tons.

Sweet potato will be cultivated on 60 thousand hectors with a production target 8 lakh 10 thousand tons.

Lentil cultivation target has been fixed one lakh 50 thousand hectors, gram (cholla) on 15 thousand hectors, maskalai on 80 thousand hectors, Mug on 90 thousand hectors, matordal on 20 thousand hectors and khesaridal on 2 lakh 75 thousand hectors. Total pulses (dal) production target has been fixed at 5 lakh 89 thousand tons.

Ground nut will be cultivated on 70 thousand hectors with a production target of one lakh 22 thousand 500 tons.

Onion cultivation target has been fixed at one lakh 60 thousand hectors with a production of 9 lakh 60 thousand tons. Garlic will be cultivated on 33 thousand hectors, Dhania on 35 thousand hectors, Termac on 42 thousand hectors and Ginger on 15 thousand hectors. Production target of Garlic has been fixed at 3 lakh 30 thousand tons, Dhania 43 thousand 750 tons, Termac one lakh 13 thousand tons and Ginger one lakh 81 thousand 500 tons. Chulli cultivation target has been fixed one lakh 30 thousand hectors with a production target one lakh 95 thousand tons. Mastard will be cultivated on 3 lakh 80 thousand hectors and winter vegetables on 4 lakh 25 thousand hectors. Mastard production target has been fixed at 3 lakh 80 thousand tons and vegetables 51 lakh tons.
