Friendship Cup Football

The five teams' Friendship Cup Football begins in Dhaka on November 28. They are Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Limited from Bangladesh, Friends Club from Nepal, Perac Football Club from Malaysia and Calcutta Mohammedan Sporting Club from India. The opening match is likely to be held between Dhaka Mohammedan SC and the team from Nepal. Surely, the soccer fans of the country will pass some moments and some days in great pleasure while the experts hope that the tournament being held after a long time will bring backlight to football.

However, the tournament would have been much more interesting and exciting had the Bangladesh Football Federation been able to include India's National League Champions Bombay's Mahendra United. Besides that, the federation should have also taken the co-operation of Bangladeshi embassy in Beijing to convince the Chinese counterpart to send a leading team of that country.

Howbeit, we think that the two local clubs will play good brand of football and win the trophy which will be very helpful for the revival of the world's most popular game in Bangladesh.
