The farmers of the district has been expecting a good harvesting of transplanted aman paddy.

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) sources said the at least 10 percent of the aman paddy was harvested within November 7 and the rate of yield is so far good. Sources said a total of 72,201 hectares of land were brought under aman cultivation in the district this year and the production target has been fixed at 1,91,540 tonnos.

Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) provided the farmers with high yield seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and other inputs to help boost production. Different banks have also disbursed necessary loans among the farmers.
