A discussion on forming community policing committee was held on the premises of Sadar Thana in the district on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Jhalakathi Hari Prasad Pal attended the meeting as the chief guest while Police Super Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman was in the chair.

The speakers emphasised the need for setting up community policing system and establish trust between the police and people. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mirza Ali Ashraf, principal of the Government College Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman, Assistant Police Super MM Shakiluzzaman and officer-in-charge of Sadar Thana SM Faruque also spoke on the occasion.
