Popular singer Asif has formally joined environment watchdog 'Paribesh Bachao Andolan' (POBA-Save Environment Movement).

The POBA held a discussion on the occasion at its office in the city with convener Abu Naser Khan in the chair. Syed Mahbubul Alam Tahir, Fulah Hossain, Abdur Rahman, Farhana Rahman Poppy and Dr Ashraful Alam, among others, addressed the meeting, said a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, Asif said everyone should play an active role to save the environment. He appreciated the role of the POBA in raising awareness among the people about environmental issues.

Asif said he would incorporate environmental issues in his songs in future and try to encourage other cultural performers to work for the environment.

Other speakers welcomed Asif and said his joining the environment movement will give them new inspiration and strength, the release said.
