Save expatriates from land-grabbers

About 5 to 7 million Bangladeshis live in foreign countries and they are a major source of our foreign currencies in our economy. Some of them stay for short time to make some money and go back to Bangladesh and some of them stay for long time or even permanent. But where ever we Bangladeshis live, our mind and dream is always there in Bangladesh. Even many took foreign citizenship, though our dream one day we will go back to stay in our motherland Bangladesh.

But today there is big threat to our life, "Land-grabbers and property thieves". These criminals are nobody from outside. Most of the cases they are close relatives and friends.

While we are outside of the country, those criminals are busy stealing our properties by occupying our or our ancestral properties. In some cases in a family when some children are struggling in foreign countries to survive, other siblings who take care of old parents in back home, forcing or convincing parents to give them properties, while expatriate brothers/sisters don't even know what is going on. Even if they know, they are helpless doing anything from outside.

The Caretaker government has taken many brave actions against land-grabbers and high class thieves, when the political parties did nothing all those years they were in power.

Catching few government officials and politicians is not enough. The problem of land grabbing and property thieves are like cancer in our society, in our country.

I will urge the Caretaker government to make and implement separate laws for "expatriate Bangladeshis" which will safeguard their security and properties in Bangladesh, catch those criminals, prosecute them, punish them and set up such an example that the future criminals will not find any chance to slip the law. These are "domestic violence" and there should be no compromise with domestic violence. There are many who are wiling to go back and invest in Bangladesh if the get help from they Government of Bangladesh.
