“Live Learn Laugh”

Unilever and FDI (Federation Dentaire International) commonly known as World Dental Federation have launched a global initiative, called "Live. Learn Laugh" in 2006 with an aim to increase oral health promotion and education in the developing nations. Key aim of the "Live. Learn. Laugh" programme is to work towards preventing oral health ailments before they start. Poor oral health causes pain, suffering and sometimes death, as well as difficulty in speaking, chewing, swallowing and maintaining a nutritious diet. Bangladesh is faced with many oral health challenges that "Live. Learn. Laugh" has been helping to reduce.

Unilever Bangladesh & Bangladesh Dental Society (BDS) have jointly organised "Pepsodent Bangladesh Dental Society Oral Health Day 2007" on Friday, 16th November. This is a unique event which was started for the very 1st time in Bangladesh in 2006 by Pepsodent. On this day, over 300 members of BDS will provide voluntary service for free Dental check-up to 12,500 registered patients. Patients will be registered through CityCell Helpline Support. The event will be held in all the 64 districts of the country on a single day.

Pepsodent-Bangladesh Dental Society Oral Health Day 2006 was carried out On 30th June, 2006 across Bangladesh. Over 250 dentists of BDS provided free dent I checkups to 10,181 registered, the patients all over the country. With last year's enormous successes event promises to benefit even larger population this year.

Pepsodent carries out frequent researches and innovations as a part of its continuous quality improvement for its product. As a result of this, both FDI and BO have given their endorsement to Pepsodent. FDI is an organization consisting of 9 Lac dentists over 134 countries all across the globe.

Pepsodent is the only leading brand in Bangladesh to be endorsed by Bangladesh Dental Society. It carries the symbol of that endorsement signifying the image of dental expertise the brand holds for the millions of consumers in Bangladesh. Unilever Bangladesh Limited has been working very closely with Bangladesh Dental Society for over last twelve years in promoting oral health and hygiene primarily among the growing children and young adults to develop good dental care habit, and it begins with brushing your teeth at least twice a day and visiting your dentist at least once if not twice in a year.

Pepsodent has been carrying out various programmes for the last one decade to improve oral hygiene awareness among general people. Among these are Pepsodent Dentibus, Secondary School Awareness Programme, Primary School Awareness Programme with Sisimpur, Dental Health Week, Dental Camp etc. Bangladesh Dental Society has been carrying out Free Dental Camps in areas where dental service is not available.

Prof. Alia Sultana, Vice President Dr. Raquibul Hossain Rumi and Secretary General Dr. Niaz Ahmed Chowdhury, 'Pepsodent-Bangladesh Dental Society Oral Health Day 2007 is a joint promise of Unilever Bangladesh Limited & Bangladesh Dental Society to make a sustainable difference towards improving the oral health scenario in our country.
