Swami Gahananandaji Mah-araj, the 14th President of Ramkirshna Math and Ramkrishna Mission, Belur Math, breathed his last on Sunday at 6:05 in the evening, says a press release of Ramkrishna Mission.

He had been suffering from old-age ailments. He was 91.

Swami Gahananandaji was born in Paharpur, a village of Sylhet district. He got initiation from Swami Virajanandaji Maharaj, the 6th President of Ramkrishna Math and Ramkrishna Mission in 1939. He was a trustee and President of the Ramkrishna Order in 2005.
