Dhaka watches developments in Pakistan

Bangladesh is closely watching the developments in Pakistan following the declaration of a state of emergency by President General Pervez Musharraf.

Asked to comment on the latest Pakistan situation, Foreign Adviser Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury said, "As a friendly country Bangladesh is observing the developments in Pakistan very closely." He viewed that those events are their internal matter. "However, we hope that those in any way do not lead to any kind of instability," he said.
